The Daviess County Economic Development Corp. has launched a coalition to promote economic recovery efforts during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of the effort, the Advance Daviess County Coalition has begun its first initiative, a campaign to bring the Mid-States Corridor project through the county to connect with I-69.

Officials in Daviess County are making their push for the Mid-States Corridor highway project with a new coalition called Daviess Driven. The Mid-States Corridor is a proposed highway project the Indiana Department of Transportation is exploring to connect cities in southern Indiana. Local economic development officials are partnering with public and private sector partners to convince INDOT to choose a route through Daviess County.

The Mid States Corridor, a proposed highway from Rockport up through Dubois County and hooking into I69 at one of five locations can mean economic opportunities for the areas it passes through.  Many of those areas are lobbying for that road to come their way and Daviess County is no exception. The Advance Daviess County Coalition, a group of local leaders working to move the community forward by seeking out opportunities for growth and development; launched a campaign today called Daviess Driven to raise awareness and support for getting the Mid States Corridor to get into or as close to the county as possible.
